Citron

Aside from Tutoring language, I work at a French Bistro called CITRON on the Upper West Side. I live Uptown on the East side, so I take the 6 train at 116th and Lexington down to 76th st, and then walk through Central Park over to the West side, or take the crosstown bus - which takes two minutes. I prefer to walk. First I'll stop on Lex at the HOT & CRUSTY (!?) for a bagel with lox spread, then walk up past Park Ave (the Upper East Side is my favorite, by the way, I pretend to myself that I live there) I also pretend I have a Fiancee from Spain. Which I do, by the way. I do.

The point of this post is to tell you that, on my way to work, near the H&C, there is a sign for an Astrologer, named Sarah Michaels. I am always drawn to the "walk ins welcome" sign, and have planned to go in, since her name is myself and my Father's combined. So tonight, after work, I hop off the bus to catch the 6 and I look over and see that the second floor is exposed, with Crystal balls and MYSTIC, ASTROLOGER, written on the windows. I notice the TV is on, and I wondered why it's the 2nd psychic I've seen with the TV on. Then I notice it's not just a regular program - it's THIS SCENE: on a big screen in the center of the room! I stood there, across the street, looking up, having waves of WHOA. Also, this picture is hanging on the wall at the bistro (whose logo happens to be a fleur de lys, surrounded by angels) but I did not move to NY to work in a restaurant. It's a few days a week, for now, while I get my language, writing and music projects up and running. Today I turned on my phone from Canada for the first time in 3 weeks to phone FIDO and cancel it. There were 13 new messages, most of them old, and one was from someone looking for an interpreter. It turns out that they had just left the message this morning! They are going to put me in the data base for regular translation and interpreting work.
